Northland Suns Basketball Development Trust

Founded in 2011 the Northland Suns Basketball Development Trust (NSBDT) is a Charitable Trust registered with the Charities Commission under the Charities Act 2005.

With a focus on financial stability and professionalism it is hoped that the NSBDT will be a sustainable and permanent feature on New Zealand’s sporting landscape.

We also see our role as making contributions to the social wellbeing of Northland. NSBDT plans to deliver a variety of programmes and special events that are aimed at assisting those wanting to participate in the sport.

It is the desire of NSBDT to produce healthy, active, happy and engaged people within our communities who participate in the sport and with that in mind we intend to place special emphasis on young persons. We want to encourage success on all levels within the sport and for this to filter through to the wider community.

It is hoped that the breadth of our programmes allows those involved to explore their sporting, cultural and personal potential. If we can assist them to turn that potential into reality, then we are succeeding in making them “be the best that they can be”.
